The Agreement, entered into force on 21 July 2008, establishes the Country Office of the International Fund for Agriculture Development in Tanzania.
The Agreement also confers on the Office immunity from every form of legal process except to the extent that the Fund has waived its immunity in a particular case. It also establishes that officials shall be immune from legal process for the acts performed in official capacity, providing that the President of the Fund has the right to waive such immunities when they impede the course of justice and the waiver does not prejudice the interest of the organization.
The Agreement also establishes a procedure to address abuse of privileges and immunities.
