The Agreement, concluded on 21 November 2006, establishes the ITER International Fusion Energy Organization for the Joint Implementation of the ITER Project.
The ITER Organization shall have international legal personality (Article 5).
The Organization, the Director General, the Staff shall enjoy in the territory of each member State such immunities and privileges as are necessary for the exercise of their functions (Article 12).
